Since she stopped running right... :(
She hasn't moved an inch since that last backfire incident. Hasn't been touched or cleaned either. That makes me sad. She can start up and run for about 15 minutes, but once the engine gets to temperature, it sputters out.
It seems like it's been ages, spiders which I despise are all over the car; almost cocooning it in webs(over exaggeration). Time to try and wash and wax after class.

Choke plate stuck? (I'm assuming its carbed, I don't know porsches)

No carbs. CIS, continuous injection system. Very complex and a pain to work with. I'd rather have carbs now. This would've never happened with carbs.

She'll make a great barn find some day

Darn. I was trying to be helpful. :(

Can you retrofit carbs?

any help is better than no help.

They make kits for them. But it's hella expensive. But it's as expensive as repairing and maintaining the CIS. I might as well ask my dad to consider carbs

Sorry, had to :)

Toooo soon.

A quick google search and I came across the removal of the warm up regulator (wur). It is supposed to be an easy procedure and might be related to what is going wrong.

Maybe. I'll make another post documenting the series of problems over the last month.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 18:31 |

Ah I see
The carbs themselves aren't that expensive. My dad finds them cheap on eBay. But the conversion kit you're probably stuck paying a high fee for.

In the four digits. -_-
And that's without labor work.

WTF?
My dad got a fully rebuilt engine for his '69 911 for less than that!

Well here, lemme do another search right quick.

(he did get a hell of a deal on that engine though...)

Choke? Boiling fuel?

Here are some PMO carbs

that's pricey!
my dad likes the stock ones. he played around with a set of webbers and said they were too fussy

Does have a choke for the magical 7th injector. When the car is cold, it's used to warm it up faster.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 18:59 |
|
Since the car is summer only it'd be tuned to be used for the season and nothing else. Not sure what's best here.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 19:02 |

Wow... 7 injectors on a 6 cyl car. Hopefully you get it sorted.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 19:04 |
|
It's a warm-up injector that gives the car more gas when the choke is pulled up.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 19:05 |

The webbers are just hard to get running right period. but once they are set correctly they do give you moar power.
What year is this car again?
![]() 07/07/2014 at 20:47 |

1974
![]() 07/07/2014 at 20:56 |

I see, I see.
So that must have been one of the earliest fuel injected cars.
There has got to be a cheaper way to revert it to the stock carbs from the cars made just before it.
The primitive fuel injection systems are such a pain!
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:10 |

It is the earliest example of CIS. -_-

Idea - find a Carrera RS 2.7 engine for ze car!
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:29 |

Get me over there and I will fix her in a week.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:32 |

Hell, go find me an SC 3.0L or 3.2L engine!
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:34 |
|
Nah doge, dis shits a many bitch to fix.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:40 |
|
I can do it.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:49 |
|
Tis some very complicated shit and you'd have to drop the engine, which cannot be done at my house. Maybe the CIS just needs some tuning?
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:56 |
|
I like a challenge. I can rebuild it to make 300 HP.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 21:59 |
|
It's mechanically imposiburu to get 300hp out of the 2.7L engine.
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:22 |
|
That works too!!
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:23 |
|
But that's expensive too! :(
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:27 |
|
maybe someone will sell one for cheap!
keep your eyes peeled
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:37 |
|
I reckon it'd be as much as a carb setup
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:56 |
|
yes but it would be a whole engine!
![]() 07/07/2014 at 22:59 |
|
Yes but in what condition though..
![]() 07/07/2014 at 23:09 |

a perfect one!
i will ask my dad to use his special powers to find you one

![]() 07/07/2014 at 23:25 |

That'd be awesome, but then there'd be the problem of keeping the current engine(my dad wants the car as original as possible, like 100%) shipping the engine and the labor to have it fitted... -_-
![]() 07/08/2014 at 01:16 |
|
ah he wants it to have matching serials... i see, i see

Bore it to a 2.9 and add turbos and some other things like weber carbs and such.
